• Prince’s Island becomes an urban village of 12,000 people daily with zero crime
• on site, there are 225 port-a-potties, 60 tents, 4 miles of 50 and 100 ft. extension cords, 1000 sheets of plywood, numerous stage risers
• local firemen cruise the river in their jetboats to protect the Island
• over 20 rafters have been caught over the years trying to sneak onto the Island (affectionately known as the Calgary Yacht Club)
• 50 bikes collected on site one year and sent to Central African Republic
• at least 3 naked people have been found swimming across river over the years
• A man from Ohio rode his motorbike to the festival with his dog
• 2 Chicago pals have made the annual trek to the festival for the last 7 years
• 1500 volunteers put in 22,000 hours
• 64 outstanding musical groups from 16 countries perform over 125 unique performances on 7 stages.
• Appetites of all kinds are satiated by 38 artisans and culinary delights from 20 vendors
• 53,000 audience members attend annually including 3570 kids and seniors admitted free-of-charge
• 86 unclaimed water bottles
• 5605 kilos of recycled materials
• in 2009, the audience drank 1,363.5 liters of Sangria, 618 bottles of wine and 418 kegs of beer over the weekend
• we diverted 4.2 tonnes of organic (compost) material from landfills in 2009
• 80 litres of cooking oil were converted into diesel fuel
• we recycled 8,500 lbs of cardboard, 5,700 aluminium cans, 2,000 plastic bottles, 1,700 glass bottles and 1,500 other containers in 2009.
• 84 tonnes of CO2 emissions were offset by planting 500 trees and giving away 200 free tree seedlings to patrons
• 5000 plastic plates reused and washed over the weekend
