Putumayo Present Latinas: Women of Latin America

            Three of the artists featured on Women of Latin America, the newest collection in the world-music label Putumayo’s popular Women In … CD series are coming to Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center.  The featured musicians representing contemporary and traditional Latin American music are Totó La Momposina, a singer and dancer from Colombia; Mariana Montalvo, a singer and Chilean exile celebrating the traditional music of her homeland; and Belô Velloso, the niece of two of Brazil’s most popular musicians, Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.  Audio clips from these and other performers on the CD are accessible at both mondaviarts.org and putumayo.com.  8p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.  Adults $26-36; students and children $13-18.  Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, Jackson Hall, 1 Shields Ave. Davis (866) 754-2787 (ARTS); mondaviarts.org.
