Boston Globe, Beyond Bowie and Brazil >>
Musician/actor Seu Jorge came to fame in "City of God," the 2002 film that told the story of two boys growing up in a violent favela of Rio tie Janeiro. Nowadays, Jorge is associated with a more pleasant film role. He played musical crew member serving the eccentric Bill Murray in the recent Wes Anderson flick "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou." Jorge’s calming covers of David Bowie classics such as "Starman" and "Rebel Rebel" added to the dreamlike feel of the already surreal underwater satire. Jorge recently released "Cru," an album of tunes sure to please "Zissou" followers and fans of Brazilian music. He visits the Museum of Fine Arts tonight at 7:30. Tickets: $25 09/14/05
