World Music Seu Jorge
MONDAY: The rise of seu Jorge could be described as a funny way to spearhead a samba revival. The Brazilian songsmith boasts a lovely way with a tuine and accompanies himself on acoustic guitar splendidly. But it was his role in the film "City of God" that brought Jorge's talents to a larger audience. And he really hit the American pop culture radar throught the comedy "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," a send-up of the Jacques Cousteau aesthtic that featured Jorge as a deckhand who transformed glam-era David Bowie songs into acoustic sambas. Jorge's last Cedar show was reportedly an exhilarating evening, and this one should also be a steamy little Carnaval ideal for dancing or listening. 8p.m. Cedar Cultural Center 416 Cedar Ave S Mpls $25 612-338-2674 06/25/06
