Choro was a sweet and lively musical genre big in Brazil long before the samba, popularized across the tropical nation by the nascent meduim of radio. The Choro Ensamble is a New York groupled by Brazilian expatriate Pedro Ramos, but with an international cast of mostly jazzbred musicians. If the iteration given on by Nosso Tempo is accurate to the intentions of the genre's original players, choro was an elagantly swinging chamber music with an affinity for the Hot Club of Paris, yet with the distinct echo of carnival rhythm's.
