French-speakers Karkwa win Polaris Prize
Quebec’s Karkwa won the fifth annual Polaris Music Prize last night, beating the likes of Caribou and Broken Social Scene to the $20,000 prize for their fourth album Les Chemins de Verre.
Karkwa joins the group of previous winners which includes Fucked Up (2009), Caribou (2008), Patrick Watson (2007) and Final Fantasy (2006). And unless we're mistaken, Les Chemins de Verre is the first sung in French that has won.

Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record

Karkwa - Les Chemins De Verre
