Hear some Irish music. Lots of musicians are touring! Altan, led by Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, will be in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday. The Irish and American “supergroup” Solas, touring their wonderful new CD “Shamrock City,” a concept album about the Irish in Butte, Montana, at the turn of the century (did you know Butte has to this day a very high percentage of Irish-Americans?), will be in Burlington, Vermont. Dervish, the Irish group led by Cathy Jordan, and touring their brand new album, “The Thrush in the Storm,” will be in Santa Monica, California. Chances are good there’s great Irish music to be heard wherever you live.
