The Tibetan singer Yungchen Lhamo finds an unlikely collaborator in the classical pianist Anton Batagov; her striking melodies seem to have little in common with his solidly western ones. Yet both have Buddhism in common, and the music is best heard as a shared meditation, Batagov picking up on and developing hints in Lhamo’s singing; each musician knows when to fall silent and give the other space. 06/14/13 >> go there
