HARMONY HOUSE JANUARY 15

Although he is only 29, Geno Deiafose is already a seasoned Zydeco veteran with some 20 years of playing experience under his belt. Hailing from Eunice, Louisiana, Geno is the son of the late Zydeco master accordionist John Deiafose. Starting out on rubboard at the tender age of seven in his father's family band, John Deiafose and the Eunice Playboys, Geno quickly graduated to drums. Several years ago he stepped out as the opening act for John, playing diatonic and piano accordions as well as singing in both Creole French and English.

Deiafose and his house-rocking; French Rockin' Boogie, have tapped the wealth of inspiration found in the traditional Cajun and Creole repertoires and created their own rich gumbo of Cajun, zydeco, R&B, country and blues. Delafose's latest (and third Rounder Records CD), IM Chanson Perdue, has been, praised by Living Blue Magazine as "...one of the most remarkable releases in the new era of zydeco."

Zydeco veteran Geno Delafose, along with his energetic band,

French Rockin' Boogie, bring their Louisiana mix of Cajun and

Creole repertoires to the Harmony House, January 15.  01/19/05
