Vive La World!
An intriguing mix of world music from Africa and Europe hits the Miami area. The show will highlight the kind of musical fusion that frequently occurs in France, where performers from Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and elsewhere are creating vibrant mixes of traditonal genres, hip-hop and electronica. Scheduled performers include Natacha Atlas, a Belgian born belly dancer singer of Arab heritage; DuOud, a group that blends African roots music with contemporary French sounds; Electo Bamako, a collaboration between French pop musician Marc Minelli and Singer Mamani Keita of Mali; and So Kalmery a musician from Zaire 07/11/03
