Just had coffee this evening with the amazingly sweet Glen Pine of the Slackers ,who gave me an advanced copy of their new record "Close My Eyes" which I am very happy to say is amongst the best work they've ever done. It's a fairly short album for them (12 songs) which features the same range of styles (ska to dub) as previous efforts but unlike "Wasted Days" comes together more evenly as a whole disc. Stripped down production which suits their live sound better and the songwriting is as great as a couple of months back when they played the Middle East. I'll be playing a track or two on the show tonight.
