Brazilian singer Mylene Pires watches the world around her in Rio De Janeiro for ideas for songs. For this CD she looked even further. She sought to reconcile Portuguese and Iberian music with her native Brazilian and then to combine that with the styles being created by modern Brazilian musicians.
This CD combines Mylene's enchantingly graceful voice with the rhythms of Samba, Bossa Nova and electronica. Most lyrics are in Portuguese (I assume), but that proves no barrier to enjoying her singing. She even includes a very interesting version of Eleanor Rigby in both English and Portuguese.
Mylene and producer Ramiro Musotto have created a CD that is a great introduction to modern music from Brazil.
