Mylene - Mylene [Editor's Pick]
Produced by Brazilian mastermind Ramiro Musotto who also added his percussion skills, Mylene combines traditional folk music with Brazilian, Mambo, and Bossa Nova styles that results in nothing less than brilliant. Covering “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beatles is a daunting task for anyone but Mylene does it with ease and Latin style adding her delicate voice making the track her own. The album is fitted nicely with a folk approach that is quite different from similar styles in America. Mylene’s vocals are dominating but in a good way—she takes care of business while allowing the music to fill the space around her.
