Ramiro Musotto is following in a grand tradition, blending traditional Brazilian music with wider pop tastes.  On this trippy debut, Muscotto draws on the distinctive Afro-Brazilian Candomble religion, with the bouncy boinging sound of the berimbau and the rolling rhythms of Bahian samba drumming, coloring those accents with washes of electronic and swift processed beats.  There are sampled bits of field recordings - like the chanting of bottle-collectors set against the rhythmic clopping of horse hoofs, all transformed into a fast paced club beat.  There's so much great Brazilian music from which to draw inspiration; Musotto could stay busy like this forever.
