Bonga, an Angolan singer, performs Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor St., Hartford.
According to allmusic.com, Bonga Kuenda was a football player with the Portuguese club Benefica. He got into music by modernizing Angolan folklore, and then began fusing styles and poetry from Portuguese-speaking Africa and other countries.
His most recent album is "Kazexe" with the Semba Master band. The lyrics are in Portuguese and Angolan, translated into French.
