Baaba Maal's Missing You (Mi Yeewnii) marked a rootsy return for the Senegalese superstar — after the success of his Afro-Pop recordings of the '90s, he released an unadorned collection of songs that use kora, interlocking acoustic guitars (played by Maal and Mansour Seck, who's accompanied Maal for more than 20 years), and a plethora of tuned and untuned percussion as a rich backdrop for his commanding voice. Billed as an acoustic show, this gig should burble with talking drums and overflow with the devotional fervor of one of Africa's strongest voices. (PS)
