Gypsy Caravans and Seven Trains

For a long time, arts groups in Queens struggled to find funding, recognition and audiences. But recent political efforts and government grants have helped to stimulate the arts in New York’s most international borough. The annual Latino Cultural Festival, which gets underway this week, is a perfect example of Queens’ vibrancy, featuring musicians and dancers from Latin American, South American, and elsewhere.
