AOL CityGuide New York, Latino-polooza lives in Queens >>

With a population of over two million Latinos in New York City alone, even a relatively minor turnout in Corona will still be a powerful party presence. As can be deduced from the name, the eighth annual version of this hugely popular extravaganza packs in as much music, dance, art, film, food and song into two weeks as possible. Countless countries will be represented. On opening night, check out Jocaycu (pictured), the eclectic Colombian dance troupe that will have you moving to the rhythm of their global beats. Closing things out will be the distinguished musician Johnny Pacheco, the Dominican-born, New York-raised flutist and Latin legend. Other spicy showcases celebrating countries like Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Mexico will be an open mic night, a fusion tango class and Siamese twin comedy (by, not about). Definitely check up on the special combo and advanced ticket packages, which can save you mucho dinero. -- Yon Motskin
