Next Monday (Oct. 1*), Portuguese diva Mariza, an icon in her own country, and acclaimed worldwide for her sensually melancholic voice that embodies the poetic tristesse inherent to fado music, will perform at 8 p.m. at USCB’s Campbell Hall.  Mariza’s two live CDs are her soul-baring performances have placed her in the category of a smoldering chanteuse par excellence!  Tickets for this event are $35 for the general public, and $17 for UCSB students.
