Smother.net, CD Review >>
Brazilian music always inspires dance and at the very least of minimums a good toe-tapping. Fusing the differing sounds of Brazil, notably Brazilian jazz, samba, and worldbeat pop, Anastacia along with her partner Ze Eugenio show off their skills in creating a bubble of catchy tunes. Just listen to the superb guitar plucking of the title track and you’ll hear the Amazonian thunder lingering as a calm storm on the brink of the coast. The duality of happiness and melancholy show a hipness uncommon to Latin music that one may hear on Hispanic radio stations in the States. And while I don’t know Portuguese to save my life, I found myself easily singing along after a number of listens. Wonderful album and no one’s album collection is complete without it.
