Malian rock. Tinariwen, the Malians who traded in guns for electric guitars, are on a mission to continue the awareness that Live 8 brought to widespread recognition, particularly highlighting the dangerous situation in their native land. And as if that weren't enough, their most recent recording, "Amassakoul" (World Village), rightfully finished on many top 10 of 2004 lists.
