Choying Drolma and Steve Tibbetts: Selwa (Six Degrees) The chanting of Buddhist nun Choying Drolma is beautiful enough to sustain an album all by itself, so it's to the credit of guitarist Steve Tibbetts
that his accompaniments don't get in the way. Tibbetts and producer Lee Townsend have resisted any temptation to try to make the chanting sound hip. Instead the electronic drones, guitar obbiigatos, and subtle percussion create a perfect temple of sound for the songs.
