“Women of Latin America” various artists (Putumayo)

 

            The next time you want to expand your musical horizons, buy a Putumayo-label CD.  It doesn’t matter which one; during its 11 years, the record company has yet to put out a bad CD, which has to be an industry record.  My all-time favorite is “Mali to Memphis,” which combines the blues music of two continents, but this one is high on the list.   10/03/04
