PUTUMAYO PRESENTS LATINAS, WOMEN OF LATIN AMERICA

11/23  Putumayo, a leading distributor of world music (its compilations provide a great jumping-off point for the novice world music collector), is named after the river that flows through multiple South American countries before spilling into the Amazon.  Three singers—Mariana Mantalvo, Belô Velloso and Totó La Momposina—are featured on Putumayo’s latest tour and are much like the river of the same name in that their music is rooted in different areas of South America (and beyond) but it ultimately blends together into a big, wonderfully fluid sound.  7:30 p.m. $20-$30.  The Moore Theatre, 1932 second Ave.; 206.682.1414; themoore.com.
