For the adventurous in spirit, skip over to France for a “global menagerie of sound” from the eclectic band of French troubadours, Lo’Jo.  The group’s first live album, Ce Soir La, serves up a divergent list of musical influences, including Arabic, Hindi, Gypsy, African, and French, for a tasty stew of unusual rhythms and melodies.  Originally a band of street performers that featured acrobats, painters, and pyrotechnicians, Lo’Jo takes this background and pumps it into a CD of 17 live tracks that mirror a carnival-like atmosphere.
