            Kitka, Wintersongs (Diaphonic CD 2004) — And now for something completely different:  Kitka are an eight-woman vocal group from the United States, and on this CD they sing 20 winter, Christmas and other seasonal songs of Eastern European origin in the native languages.  How often do you get to hear “Shchedrik,” later to become “Carol Of The Bells,” in its original Ukrainian?  (www.kitka.org)
