Motifs (Polydor)

            At moments, Paris Combo recall the Hot Club of Paris, the ‘30s group whose Gallic swing suggests much of the music from the recent film The Triplets of Belleville.  mostly, though, the Combo have developed a breezy sound all their own, one that incorporates echoes of rock, ska, cool jazz, and samba into a cosmopolitan mix.  Belle du Berry’s sexy vocals add to the mischievous sparkle.
