Legendary UK artist Linton Kwesi Johnson, founder of "dub" poetry and called the first reggae poet, will read from his work at California State University, Los Angeles on April 21 in an event that is free and open to the public. 

Along with a Grammy Award nomination, Johnson is the recipient of numerous critical and academic honors.  With a blend of writing that reflects his work with poets, musicians, political movements, theater and journalism, he is a powerful performer.  A musician as well as a writer, Johnson's recordings are amongst the top-selling reggae albums in the world.

Johnson appears as part of the Cal State, LA 2005 Jean Burden Poetry Reading, a prestigious annual event featuring a major national or international poet.
