EDITOR — Oliver Mtukudzi seems to be digging his own grave by treading on political ground. The statement which he gave after his performance at Mai Mujuru's celebration show is highly political.
Critics allege that Chimbetu, and Andy Brown's music sales went down because of a relationship with Zanu PF.
Thomas Mapfumo is highly commended by some for an anti Zanu-PF stance. All this political meddling destroys music business.
Where is Thomas Mapfumo now: living in exile; sold his football team Sporting Lions (he couldn't run it); wife has left him and three band members have left sighting unbearable suffering in the US.
Mtukudzi should learn and know that he can't survive on diasporans alone. They only need one or two shows a year. Give them more shows and their attendance will deteriorate as they revert to their "shifts".
Mtukudzi back off political comments they are suicidal to your carrier.
