Boris Kovac & La Campanella's World After History (Piranha/World Music Network) takes cabaret fare and elevates it by adding aspects of Mediterranean sounds. Kovac also plays alto and soprano sax with a jazzman's zest and flair, while classical guitarist Milos Matic, accordionist Goran Penic, bassist Milos Matic and drummer Istvan Cik provide the extra musical touches and flavor. Kovac's originals utilize the string quartet Tajj on six cuts, and flashy bass clarinetist Bogdan Rankovic on three others, but it's the efforts of Kovac & La Campanella on such tunes as "An Intro Trip," "To Entertain You" and Matic's "Malena" and "Crazy Love Waltz" that gives the music on World After History drive and attractiveness. 05/12/06 >> go there
