"Heavy Metal as it should be played: The nine members of the Gangbe Brass Band make horn-and rhythm-centric jazz that's as solid, smooth and cool as a brushed-steel I -beam. Their sound is all mettle: forged from instrumentation left behind by colonialism and honed with traditional music styles dating to the 16th century West African kingdom of Dahomey. It's a one-of-a-kind, razor sharp sound with true edge and joyful spirit. Their syncopated sounds are nothing short of golden."
