GlobalFest is back and for those who have not heard of it, think"Around the Music World" in two days at Joe's Pub January 21 & 22. Coordinated along with The Association of Arts Presenters Conference and Joe's Pub, the whirlwind event features varied musical cultures in theaters throughout the Public Theater. This year artists hail from Brazil, Dj Dolores; Mauritania, Daby Toure; Senegal, Daara J; Russia, Auktyon; Israel/USA, Balkan Beatbox; France, Juan Carmona; Cape Verde, Lura; Iran/India, Niyaz; and France/USA, Roxane Butterfly along with tons of others.Altogether, 13 acts perform each night. Creators of this performance extravaganza include Maure Aronson of World Music/CRASHarts, Bill Bragin/Public Theater and Isabel Soffer,WorldMusicInstitute.
