Whether you're a fan of flamenco, West African hip-hop or the lushsounds of the Indonesian gamelan, the next few weeks provide many opportunities to sample world music -- the catchall categorization forthe ethnic musical styles of other countries. While many of the performers are on North American tours far from their homes in Siberia or the Cape Verde Islands, others live in the U.S. but preserve and share the cultural traditions of their ancestors.
