LABEL BLUE / David Krakauer & Socalled - Bubbemeises: Lies My Gramma Told Me (CD)
David Krakauer, along with his clarinet, teams up with Jewish hip hop beat architect - Socalled, for a klezmer delight, Krakauer embarks on his mission to revitalize klezmer. Mixing humor with music results in tunes asm "Bubbemeises," the tender strains of "Ms N.C.," the dance beats of "Moskovitz And Loops Of It," the harmonious "B Flat A La Socalled," and raises the decibels for "Turntable Pounding." The traditional "Long.. Short, Long (L:es Colocs) starts the second half, followed by the funk of "Bus Number 9999," plus the high-stepping "The Electric Sher," rolling on with the fast-paced "Rumanua, Rumania," and the bonus track of Klezmer Madness' "Rue Mania" caps off a very interesting collection of songs. 10/13/06
