CABRUERA
Sambas for Sleepless Nights: Genre splicing from Brazil where a bunch of goats consulted an oracle who told them to fuse their folk music onto the coming tide. They listened and you have to listen. This is a different take on world beat where it has the feel of the street and has none of the hallmarks of something that NPR would take to heart, but should. With funk and fervor amid the sway and play, this is the party record you are looking for when you want a grown up party, but you still want to shake off the dust. Fun stuff that will not be held back.
