Abraham Gomez Delgado, frontman of this hybrid Latin band uses his territory of origin, Puerto Rico, as a metaphor for what's going on everywhere in the world, from immigration to globalization, incorporating sounds from band musicians rooted in Cuba, Africa, Venezuela, the Caribbean and the U.S.

But the slapping bass and jazz fusion and rock rhythms on some tracks feel like a cross-cultural, sonic Rorschach test. Cama de la Conga is best when its less abstract - on tracks like Gordo Rojo, Assimilar and La-Costilla, with trumpets and guitar sounds backing Gomez De gado's screaming protest lyrie.
