San Fransisco Bay Times, CD Review >>
California-transplant to Africa and back, Chris Berry,
was mentored old school and mastered the mbira (thumb
piano) and the ngoma drum. Forming a band, and a
charity project, they now spread ideas of social
justice and peace through a ska-techno-ish hybrid with
chilled hopeful mantras dipping and dodging through
chunky-funky horns, slow-burn rhythms and jazzed
compositions friendly to a whole world of music
