Algeria and Cuba have a common cultural heritage spun from the web of Andalusian Spain in the 10th century. Those influences of Jewish, African, Arabic, and Latin were stirred together and today exist to some extent in a musical format. Maurice is an Algerian pianist/vocalist and Roberto is a Cuban percussionist and together they rekindle that old spirit with beautiful Cuban jams and tales of Jewish and Arabic culture. A beautiful album that deserves to be mentioned among the best in world music this year. 04/03/06 >> go there
