Smadj - Take It and Drive

 

Smadj is based out of Paris, France but his music is rooted in his own origins in Tunisia. IDM is blitzkrieged with electronica beats and ambient soundscapes with layers of Tunisian traditional ney (a type of flute), oud, and African singing. Some songs seem to be a culling song almost with an odd sense of eeriness that stirs you bristling upwards. Downtempo DJs take notice, this is an album you must own.
