SMADJ/Take It and Drive:
The world is always changing and this is one of those sets that shows world beat is changing with it. Bringing world beat into the digital realm and using technology to bring the far corners closer, Smadj mixes world class world beaters with the bushmen of the Kalahari, griots, Arabic flavors and more and more and more. Giving world beat a good solid kick in the pants, stoic NPR types might find this to have a touch of sacrilege running through it but young multi-culti types might find this the first taste of world beat they can easily digest. There's a lot going on but it doesn't try to be something for everyone and that focus moves it to the top of the pile. A worthy find for those with open ears. 05/21/06 >> go there
