Kekele, Kinavana (Stern's): Third time's charm? Well, yes, although this true supergroup's first two releases were plenty charming enough. This one tosses in guitar great Papa Noel, Manu Dibango's sax, additional super-vocalists Mbilia Bel and Madilu System, and thus pretty much achieves one degree of separation at most from virtually every legendary African band of the past 'couple of generations. But as a tribute to Cuban great Guillermo Portabales, this one amps up the Latino flavor, or injects more rumba into the Congo. Sweetness and groove abound and hell, anyone who follows international music has likely heard of and, if they've heard it, got it. Can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. 06/01/06
