When I utter the word Cuba what comes to mind? Castro, cigars, Communism, the three C's essentially. Saborit would prefer that the word on the tip of the tongue would be music. An eight-piece band who have been playing music for some two decades, Que Linda Es Mi Cuba is their debut record. Deeply tucked in the album are Cuban folktales and a firm nod towards the root of Cuban and Caribbean Latin music. Peasant music or campesino, combines rumba and son with homage towards the heritage of the island's myriad of European and Black cultures. Very nice indeed. 09/01/06 >> go there
