WORLD MUSIC YAT-KHA
Today: Named for the string instrument used in the band's music, this foursome from the Tuva Republic put their own inimitable stamp on 14 rock standards from "In a Gadda Da Vida" to "When the Levee Breaks" to "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on the new disc "Re-Covers." What makes the songs so unforgettable, and more than a bit frightening, is lead singer Albert Kuvezin's mastery of ancient throat-singing techniques, which gives the songs an otherworldly ambiance. 7:30 p.m.; Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave. S., Mpls.; S20-S18; 612-338-2674.
