YAT-KHA And now for something so mindbogglingly different it qualifies as an alien life form: Western pop and rock standards by the likes of Hank Williams, Kraftwerk, Santana, and Iron Butterfly, reworked by Tuvan throat singers. The guttural multi- tone style of singing initially seeped out of Siberia in the '90s via the group Huun- Huur-Tu. Albert Kuvezin split from that band and formed Yat-Kha, all the while harboring a fascination for stuff far from the steppes. The result is Re-Covers (World Village), easily the most bizarre thing to come down the pike in a while. The idea works best with the gritty Delta blues of Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks," and Captain Beefheart's "Her Eyes Are Blue Million Miles," thanks to the complex rhythms and tonal intrigues of the originals. Kuvezin's tortured negotiations of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" or Motorhead's "Orgasmatron," however, amount to such high-caliber kitsch that it practically demands the participation of William Shatner. This is a curiosity not to be missed. $18/S20 at the door. 7:30 p.m. Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave. S.,
