Bole 2 Harlem is the culmination of Ethiopian jazz beats, organic and earthy percussion, and varied vocals by numerous musicians from New York and Ethiopia. The modern beats, African and Middle-Eastern percussion and downbeat groovings are infectious and exciting. The traditional tunes of Ethiopia are essentially reinvented when mixed with American music sensibilities. However, the music retains the cultural underpinnings from which it is derived, without resorting to an amalgamation of musical indistinctiveness.
