Cape Verde's best-known singer is Cesaria Evora, but a group of younger singers and musicans including Lura and Sara Tavares are rediscovering the hidden traditions of their ancestral homeland.  Born and raised in Libson's emigre community, Lura's music is inspired by the styles of batuku and funana found on Santiago--the most African of the 10 Cape Verde islands.
