Lura, M'bem di Fora (Times Square): A fine sophomore international release from this Lusafrican singer who specializes in the beauti ful, yearning, melancholic-even-when-faster sound of the Cape Verdean islands (far) off Senegal. The rhythm is called batuku and the band is mostly acoustic. Lura's rich voice and choruses are immediately likeable, as is the whole disc. A worthy addition, if not successor, to Cesaria Evora. 06/01/07
