Contemporary Cape Verdean singer Lura will make listeners almost forget about the archipelago’s iconic artist, Cesaria Evora, thanks to her latest release, “M’bem di fora.” With her sultry soulful voice and a crack backing band, Lura creates an African samba/forro sound that incorporates the best of West African music and Portuguese fado.
