Austin Celtic Festival with Dervish, John Williams and Dean Magraw and more
XL Recommended - 11.5.06 - Dervish: The impoverished religious practitioners called Dervishes were known for their wisdom, enlightenment and poetry. This act's flutes will dance, their fiddles will wail and their mandocellos will do whatever it is that mandocellos do. And to prove that they aren't just some Celtic wannabes, some of the songs are even sung in Gaelic. Their 2004 CD 'Spirit' is both fun-loving and culturally empowering.

From the Promoter: The Austin Celtic Festival has been an integral part of the Austin arts scene since 1997 and is the largest gathering of Celts in Central Texas. It is two days & four stages and presents nearly 200 artists; dancers, actors, musicians and storytellers.
RAIN OR SHINE
In the event of bad weather the ACF continues as planned. All stages and audience areas are covered. But you will need umbrellas or rain coats to move from stage to stage.
