Celtic group 'Dervish' to perform in Fallon Nov. 4

The Churchill Arts Council will present a performance of Irish music by the internationally acclaimed Celtic band, Dervish, at the Oats Park Art Center on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and there will be a no-host bar.
Tickets are $17 for CAC members, $20 for non-members and are available in Fallon at Jeffs Copy Express, Postage Plus and ITT/NAS Fallon. CAC also now accepts Visa and Mastercard for ticket purchases by calling 423-1440. This performance is likely to sell out, so he sure and get your tickets early.
The band will also conduct a free and open-to-the-public conversation on Celtic music at p m. on the day of the performance. If you are interested in attending the conversation, please RSVP to 423-1440. Dervish has been hailed for their performances of music from Sligo, the way west of Ireland. They have garnered all major Irish music awards including Best Traditional /Folk group of 2005. They have no equal in contemporary Irish music fusing immense passion and verve with stunning virtuosity. Their performances are a myriad of tones and moods high energy to beautifully measured and understated lyrics of life and love, coupled with soaring melodic improvisation.
